There are a lot of organizations which battle on behalf of individuals who suffer from human rights violations. These violations range from torture, war crimes, ethnic discrimination, denial of basic survival requirements and a host of others. First is the Advocates for Human Rights. They are responsible for the documentation of human right abuses. Jim Larkin and Micheal Lacey who established the Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Time together have channeled the funds they got from the settlement when they were arrested by the Sheriff named Joe Arpaio. The money was utilized in funding organizations for migrant rights all around Arizona.

Their Arrest which occurred on the 18th of October 20007 by the Sheriff resulted in a settlement of $3.75. In the dead of night, Jim and Lacey were captured from their homes and thrown in jail because they revealed there was a grand jury proceeding in existence which looked for reporters notes that covered the Sheriff.
